About Tomasa Macapinlac

Tomasa Macapinlac has been practicing Asian Healing Arts since 1997. In 1997, she received her certification for Jin Shin Jyutsu and in 1998 she received her basic certification for Acupressure from the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, California. In June 2006, she completed her advance acupressure certification at the Acupressure Institute and subsequently in October 2006 passed the National exam for Asian Bodywork Therapy administered by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Before she came to know these healing arts, she received her B.S. degree from U.C. Berkeley in Electrical Engineering. With this degree, she had a highly successful career in the tech industry for 15 years, however she found the healing arts to be much more profound and decided to become a "jumper cable" herself.

Besides helping clients with muscular skeletal projects such as lower back pain, shoulder and neck tension, she has aided many clients with more serious projects such as cancer, schizophrenia, kidney failure, digestive disorders, headaches (migraines included), and pre/post surgery preparations. Emotional balancing is another aspect to this work that intrigues Tomasa. For she not only has experienced it herself, but has worked with clients in bringing balance to themselves, through Asian Body Therapy as well as Guided imagery. Most come to see her for stress relief to release their back pain or neck and shoulder tension, but know and feel that they are receiving more than physical relief. Tomasa feels that this work heals the soul on a very deep level as she works with clients on four levels: mentally, physically, emotionally, and metaphysically.

Tomasa has built a successful part-time practice in Los Altos, where she practices Wednesday and Fridays and opened up another location in Walnut Creek in 2002 where she is available for appointments on Sundays and Tuesdays. Occasionally, she sees clients in her home and will accommodate outcalls.
